Healing the Trauma of Asslyem Seeking Women through Art Therapy a path to Psychological Reconstrucation

Résumé

Exiled individuals face deep isolation, a lack of resources, and the challenge of overcoming cultural gaps between themselves and the host society. These struggles, often experienced in solitude, exacerbate psychological suffering and can intensify the trauma associated with their personal histories and migratory journeys. In response to this, the project "En Découdre" was born within the association Habitat Humanisme/Urgence. This program, combining art and psychotherapy, was designed to offer a space for support and expression to these individuals. During this intervention, I will present, from a psychological perspective, the project's objectives, the organization of the sessions according to the participant groups, and the main artistic media employed. I will then discuss the advantages and challenges of multidisciplinary collaboration between psychologist and artist, while highlighting the limits and difficulties encountered. Finally, I will conclude by sharing the effects observed on the participants throughout the project.
